IT Practitioner Suite (Cisco CCNA and IT Essentials)
The Programme:
The OCR Level 3 Certificate for IT Practitioners (ICT Systems Support) has been developed to address the needs of students wanting to gain employment in the IT industry. This new qualification links closely to a student’s professional development and reflects the needs of employers.
This qualification has been designed to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the full range of functions involved in system support including service delivery, planning and control, the installation of networks and operating systems, the installation and maintenance of applications, the testing of systems and the production of customer support materials.
The qualification provides opportunities for learners to study towards system and network management, in addition to being able to take units that are vendor specific. 4 units in the course are offered in partnership with Cisco CCNA and other Units are offered in partnership with CompTIA (Cisco IT Essentials and A+).
Requirements:
To be IT literate, a grade C in GCSE English is recommended and having a keen interest in ICT is advantageous.
Next Steps:
Go directly into employment within the IT industry. Continue into higher education. Computer Science, Computer Networking and Music Technology are some areas of study that would be a direct continuation from this course.
