ICT
The Programme
This new course is the equivalent to one or two A levels depending on the number of units taken. It is a natural progression from Level 2 which is studied at Carmel.
The course offers students a more in depth look at ICT in the modern workplace and gives an insight into its role in specialist areas.
6 units are studied for the Certificate
12 Units are studied for the Diploma
The 4 Mandatory Units for both the Certificate and Diploma are:
1. Digital Business Communication
2. Collaborative working
3. Problem Solving
4. Creating a Digital Showcase
Additional Units will be taken from the Website Specialist Pathway and the Creative Pathway.
Requirements:
Students will need to have achieved either a Merit in ICT, a level 2 OCR National course, or a grade B in GCSE ICT or equivalent.
Next Steps:
This course gives Carmel students an advantage in the employment market where good IT skills are in demand. Students can use their IT skills in a variety of ways from the IT courses in Higher Education to any of the multiplicity of vocational courses available or as a means of presenting information in a way that is clear and easily understood by others.
