OCR Nationals in ICT
The Programme:
This new course is the equivalent to one or two A levels depending on the number of units taken. It is a natural progression from Level 2 which is studied at Carmel.
The course offers students a more in depth look at ICT in the modern workplace and gives an insight into its role in specialist areas.
6 units are studied for the Certificate
12 Units are studied for the Diploma
The 4 Mandatory Units for both the Certificate and Diploma are:
- Digital Business Communication
- Collaborative working
- Problem Solving
- Creating a Digital Showcase
Additional Units will be taken from the Website Specialist Pathway and the Creative Pathway.
Requirements:
Students are expected to have obtained a level 2 pass in ICT either from OCR National or an equivalent course, and to be independent in their approach to learning as 100% of the assessment is based on portfolio work.
Next steps:
This course gives Carmel students an advantage in the employment market where good IT skills are in demand. Students can use their IT skills in a variety of ways from the IT courses in Higher Education to any of the multiplicity of applied courses available or as a means of presenting information in a way that is clear and easily understood by others.
