Applied Health and Social Care

The Programme:
Would you like to learn something about the applied area of Health and Social Care? This could be social work, care for the elderly, working with children or perhaps a health profession such as radiography.

Whatever your interest, GCE Health and Social Care awards incorporate an extremely wide range of units. They are flexibly structured to give you choice to form qualifications which can be highly individual to your personal aptitudes, interests and ambitions.

There are 2 levels:
AS GCE level, single (three units)
AS GCE level double (six units)

GCE level single (six units)
GCE level double (twelve units)

Assessment is 33% examination and 67% portfolio evidence.

Requirements:
You will need to have a minimum of 5 passes at GCSE grades A - C including English. For the Science Double Award a minimum of Grade C is required.

Next Steps:
This course prepares you for employment in Hospitals and Primary Care Trusts, Social Work or further education.
