Children's Care, Learning and Development
BTEC Level 3

The Programme

This is a practical work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands in Children's Care.
You will be introduced to the employment area of the care of children.
There are two sizes of qualification.

A BTEC National Award equivalent to one A level. This comprises 5 units. A minimum of 60 hours work experience is required as part of the course.

A BTEC National Certificate equivalent to two A levels. This comprises 12 units . A minimum of 800 hours work experience is required as part of the course.

Upon successful completion of the course you would be a qualified practitioner and able to work at supervisory level in child care settings.

 


Requirements:
Students are expected to have obtained at least 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above including English, and to be independent in their approach to learning as 100% of the assessment is based on partfolio work.

Next Steps:

This course prepares you for employment or further study for example:

Hospitals and Primary Care Trusts, Schools and Further Education.
