Public Uniformed Services National BTEC Award
Level 3

 

The Programme:

This qualification is targeted at students who would like to gain employment in the uniformed public services sector. Either by entering employment in a uniformed operational role or in an office based role supporting public services.

A BTEC National Award is equivalent to one A level.

The course is made up of six  units.

3 Compulsory Units

  1. Government Policies and Public Services
  2. Team Leadership in the Uniformed Public Services
  3. Citizenship, Contemporary Society and the Public Services

 

3 Optional Units which are decided upon each year

Requirements:

Students are expected to have obtained at least 5 GCSE passes at C Grade or above including English,  and to be independent in their approach to learning as 100% of the assessment is based on portfolio work.

Next steps:

This course prepares you for employment directly into public services or to applications for Higher Education  where learners can pursue public services or specialist public services qualifications for example Foundation Degree or Degree Level qualifications.
