Design First Diploma
BTEC Level 2

The Programme:
This is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing designing and making assignments in either Graphics, Textiles or Resistant Materials areas.

It introduces you to the exciting employment area of Design you have chosen and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work- related qualification.

A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A - C and is taken as a full-time course. The course is made up of six units - four core units that everyone takes and two specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study particular areas in more depth.

 

Requirements:
You will normally need to have at least the following: 4 GCSE passes at grades D - G in Maths, English, Design & Technology plus one other subject.

 

Next Steps:
A BTEC First Diploma prepares you for employment and provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced course such as: 3D Design, Design, Design Crafts, Fashion and Clothing, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fabric / Textile Design, Advertising.
