A range of courses are available at a variety of levels.
GCE Applied Courses
Using work-related contexts and a wide variety of teaching and assessment methods, these new awards offer a broad introduction to the applied area. These awards are designed to provide a progression route to higher education and further training for employment.
BTEC First Diploma
This a practical, work-related course. Students learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
It introduces learners to particular areas of employment and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.
A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSE passes grades A - C and is normally taken as a full-time course.
BTEC National Award
These courses offer a specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of employment within the appropriate applied sector. It attends a learner’s programme of study and provides an applied emphasis for learners following and Applied GCE or GCE route.
ICT Courses
These are available at Level 3 and practitioner level. All Applied courses have parity with GCSE and GCE and can be taken in conjunction with other A levels.
