Spain

Our links with Spain go back to 1993, when the mayor of Alcalá de Guadaira near Seville paid a visit to Durham County Council to ask for partner schools. Since then we have enjoyed many exchanges with the Instituto Cristóbal de Monroy and also collaborated on our first Comenius project “Communities in Change”. More recently we have developed a second partnership in Spain through NEOS. The Salesian school in Ibi, near Alicante, Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados, has worked with us on two study visits in 2005 and 2006 and has joined the Comenius project “How Migration has influenced our European Culture” for the final year 2006/07.
