Work Experience

Since 1999 we have been involved in arranging work experience for our Sixth Form students. For three years students from the Gustav- Heinemann-Schule spent a month on work experience in Darlington, with the financial support of the Krupp Foundation in Essen. In addition students from both schools have participated in an exchange programme which has included a week's work experience. The benefits - social, cultural, linguistic - for our students, mainly but not exclusively students taking 'A' Level German, have been immeasurable. Work placements in Mülheim have included nurseries, primary schools, a computer firm, the town hall, town planning, a leather laboratory, a car dealership and an events firm.
