Between the 10th and 19th May, Tom Read, Assistant Principal, Carmel College and Simon Hannaford, Curriculum Leader for PE visted the magnificent Phoenix City International School in China. Click here for more details.
Between the 15th and 17th March Carmel welcomed guests from Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Cyprus for the Comenius Conference. Click here to view images taken by our visitors and to view the presentations given during their visit.
In September 2006 Mr S Hannaford received the “International School Award” from Jonathan Dimbleby at a ceremony in London on behalf of Carmel pupils and staff. In granting this award the British Council recognizes our commitment to and involvement in a wide range of international activities including study trips, exchanges, international conferences, projects across Europe such as Comenius: “The Influence of Migration on our European Culture” and activities which focus on helping those in need, such as the Fair Trade group, the HCPT visit to Lourdes and fund-raising for a school in Cambodia. Carmel received a special mention at the ceremony for being one of only ten schools in the country to receive the Full International School Award (there are three levels, each running for three years) for the third time in a row.
NEOS International Student Conference
The conference took place between 22-26 October at the European Institute in Bocholt Germany. Mr S Bowman-Jones accompanied four Y13 students, Elizabeth Muller, Nichola Worthington, Rachel Greener and Sarah McDermott.
