Why Textiles Technology GCSE?
This GCSE course will allow students to learn about and apply a range of manufacturing processes, techniques and technologies appropriate to the design and make process.

What will I do?
Designing and making activities will be delivered through a fashion and accessories route.
The following is an example of the areas which will be studied:
¨ Designing and making skills e.g. fashion: items such as bags, trousers and tops
¨ Materials and Components
¨ Design and make influences, looking at current fashion trends
¨ Processes and Manufacture
The above areas of study will provide opportunity to cover ICT and spiritual, moral, ethical, social, cultural, environmental, health and safety and European Issues.

How will I be assessed?
Coursework:
3 dimensional outcomes. 40 hours 60% of total marks
Submission of a design folder and/or appropriate use of ICT
Written Paper
40% of total marks
Foundation or Higher Tier
