Aims of Course
The course encourages students to design and make quality products in quantity
using a variety of Resistant Materials (Wood, Metal and Plastic). Students
acquire knowledge, skills and understanding to allow them to do this.
What will I learn?
To select appropriate materials, tools and equipment.
To identify problems, and propose various solutions.
To gather and assess information collected from external sources.
To expand knowledge and understanding of woods, metals and plastics.
How will I learn?
By completing various practical tasks in a range of resistant materials.
Mini themed project using the same format as the major coursework project
and various homework assignments.
Assessment
There are two levels of entry for this examination subject: Foundation
and Higher. At Foundation level the grades available are G-C. At higher
Level you can achieve grades D-A*.

40% of the marks
Foundation: 2 hours 125 marks
Higher: 2 hours 125 marks
