Why Choose Electronic Products?     
This popular and exciting course enables students to develop a good understanding of how electronic devices are designed and manufactured.
What will I do?
In Year10, pupils will:

  1. Complete practical mini-projects
  2. Learn to work using circuit simulators on a computer.
  3. Develop the basic understanding of Electronics they gained during the KS3.
  4. Work towards their final GCSE project.

In Year11, pupils will:

  1. Continue to develop understanding through focussed theory lessons.
  2. Develop their skills using circuit simulators on a computer.
  3. Complete their final GCSE product.
  4. Complete their final GCSE Folder.

How will I be assessed?
60% coursework          (of which 60% is for the coursework folder and 40% for the building of a product)
40% examination        (2hr written paper)
Employment Opportunities:    
Pupils who have studied Electronic Products GCSE have a number of options open to them including further education at AS/A2 level at Carmel, vocational courses, modern apprenticeships or direct employment.
